Derric Morse - Welding - Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center

Derric Morse

has worked in welding for over 25 years. He received training and certifications from Ogden-Weber Technical College and Combination Welder certification from the American Welding Society’s Certified Welding Inspector program. Derric brings experience in structural steel fabrication and heavy beam welding and fitting. He previously worked with a high-level production company for nine years, fabricating heavy refrigerated transfer containers. Throughout his career, Derric has developed partnerships with several industry organizations. He is currently A-36 and 3G certified through AWS.

Bud Ford - Facilities Maintenance - Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center

Bud Ford

brings over 35 years of industry experience to his role as Facilities Maintenance instructor at Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center. He learned a lot from his father, who worked in facilities maintenance for over 40 years. Bud has trained in several areas, including amps, volts and ohms electrical troubleshooting, industrial kitchen equipment repair, and HVAC and Section 608 Technician training at Davis Technical College. He also gained experience in the trade while serving in the United States Army.

Kyle Yurkovich - Advanced Emergency Dispatch - Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center

Kyle Yurkovich

Kyle Yurkovich earned a bachelor’s degree in natural resources management from Ohio State University and brings nearly 20 years of wildland fire management experience to Weber Basin Job Corps. Kyle has worked in several hand crews, managed Type 2 IA firefighting crews with Job Corps, operated various types of engines, and worked with the local fire dispatch center and in fuels management. Kyle has also taught United States Forest Service Wildland Firefighter Apprenticeship Program courses with the State of Utah Department of Natural Resources.

John Jones (Jack) - Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center

John Jones (Jack)

is a classically trained chef with over 45 years of experience in a variety of kitchens and hospitality operations. He is a dedicated professional chef and loves his role as a mentor and teacher to Job Corps students. Chef Jack has taught young people the craft of culinary arts for over 30 years, including the past 15 with Weber Basin Job Corps. He teaches his students that hard work can be a rewarding career path if they are willing to put in the effort. Chef Jack has watched former students find successful careers because of the foundation they built at Weber Basin.

Kris Johnson - Welding - Trapper Creek Job Corps Center

Kris Johnson

Kris Johnson brings over 20 years of industry experience to Trapper Creek Job Corps. He has built many different heavy industrial machines and equipment. When he isn’t working, Kris can be found building a raft or fishing.
