is one of few San Jose Job Corps Center employees who worked at the original center in downtown San Jose, when he started as a math instructor in 1993. So far, he has taught classes in every academic subject offered at the San Jose Job Corps Center and has always enjoyed assisting students in obtaining their high school diploma or equivalency. Before coming to Job Corps, Denis spent over 20 years working in the theater business in the Bay Area. He toured the Western United States and six countries in Europe as an actor with El Teatro Campesino and was one of the founding members of City Lights Theater Company here in San Jose after completing his Master of Arts degree in theater from San Francisco State University. He is a poet and a playwright, having had five of his plays produced. Denis also is an avid reader, TV lover and sports enthusiast who roots for the Giants, 49ers and White Sox. He has served nearly 30 years working with our students and is always happy when he can help them grow and move on to bigger and better things.
